Capris 101
A few ways to wear them, if you’re curious...
Like it or not, capris are back. And this isn’t me saying you have to participate. I’ll be honest, I was resistant at first. But after spending some time sourcing different styles and playing around with outfit combinations, I get it. I’m officially a capri girl.
With summer approaching and it starting to get hot, I’ve been gravitating toward pieces that feel lighter and easier…something that lets my ankles breathe a little. And capris kind of hit that perfect in-between.
So I’m dedicating this week to them. I pulled together a few outfits centered around capris to show how they can actually work…whether you’ve been curious to try them or just need a little direction.
Because there are so many ways to approach them. You can go more fitted and tailored, something that hugs the body and feels a bit more elevated, even slightly sexy. Or you can lean into a looser, more relaxed shape: baggy, straight-leg, a little undone. They can be casual, they can be dressed up…it really just depends on how you style them.
So, consider this capris 101.
Starting off with these zebra cuff capris! Styled with a vintage Moschino top, Chanel ballet flats, a Gucci bag, and Oakley sunglasses. It’s easy, slightly playful, and works for pretty much anything…day, night, in between.

This one couldn’t feel more like summer vacation with the scalloped hem capris and tank. I leaned into that energy with patent leather Manolos, a Gucci clutch, and simple drop earrings. It’s very resort, very simple, and something you could throw on for dinner after a day by the pool.
This outfit is really about the idea that capris don’t have to be the outfit…they can just be the foundation.
I used a simple pair of white cotton capris as the base, then a motocross long sleeve jersey (I’ll always have a thing for random sport merch). Styled with green mules, a vintage evening bag for a pop of color, and long black onyx Southwestern drop earrings (very much the energy this summer).
These feel very Y2K, slightly retro, and a little unexpected. I ran with that energy with a sporty silver top that almost looks like a water shirt. Styled with metallic heels, a sequin clutch, and drop chain earrings. It’s not the most obvious combination, but it shows how flexible capris can be.
Vintage Gap really sets the bar. I’m always blown away by what I find. These denim capris have the cutest details…floral trim and a Hawaiian print pocket. I almost didn’t share them because I wanted them for myself.
This one feels very summer vacation, but also very “manifest the vacation.” I paired them with an ’80s lace and satin cami, mesh ballet flats, and a yellow envelope clutch. And obviously, dangle earrings.
Satin drawstring capris: they’re super versatile and just lay really nicely on the body.
I paired them with a Burberry halter and white Donald Pliner kitten heels. I was going to do a black or neutral bag, but didn’t want it to feel too predictable, so I added this little vintage ’50s drawstring bag. Then Dior shield sunglasses to make it feel a little edgier.

Love you, bye!
